Northumbria Uni is in Newcastle, not Northumberland (they used to have a campus near Morpeth but I believe that has closed now).

I know a few people who have been through Northumbria and seem to have enjoyed it, but it is the old poly so some people still look down on it slightly. Having said that it does have a pretty good reputation compared to some other unis in the North East, Durham excluded - obviously we're the best! ;-)

I'm at Northumbria, doing nursing. I'm from Newcastle anyway, so I may be biased, but I think it's a great city, and the university's considered one of the best (new) universities. I don't know what it's like for performing arts at all, but you should definitely come to Northumbria. Newcastle's fantastic. We all think 'Ahdivvanah' is an acceptable answer to a question. There're some good bars and clubs and that, it's a really lively nice place. And Northumberland's lovely, if you like to explore. And it has the coast, which is lovely in summer, and bleak and desolate in winter.

...that wasn't meant to be anonymous. It was me.

Thanks! I love the coast, even if it does get 'bleak and desolate' in the winter :-)

I'm at Northumberland college in Northumberland.

Even if you do decide to go to northumbria uni you could choose to live here. I live only 18 miles out of newcastle, you can be there by bus within 50 mins.

If you keep reading my journal you'll get to know northumberland a bit better.

I live here because its so beautiful. I have the coast not far away , kielder resevoir is just a small car journey away, its steeped in history with more castles per square inch than any other part of the country, there's a lovely light house at st mary's. If you're into outdoorsy type stuff you'd love Northumberland with Newcastle being so close you get the best of both worlds, it has a great nightlife, lots of bands visit regularly, great places to go for meals a variety of different cinemas. The tyneside cinema in Newcastle is great for more unusual films that the other cinema's don't offer. There's the theatre royal and the baltic. There's a community on here for northumbria uni I think.

If you want ot know anything else, just let me know.
